IMG 5092

Winter Wonderland was a rip-roaring success, with huge amounts of fun had by all! Over £2000 was raised, so thanks must go to Victoria Whelan, Sarah McGuinness, Mel Rothwell, Clare Byles and Emma Bird for their tireless efforts to organise the event, and to the many other parents and children who helped in the run-up, the set-up, on the day and of course clearing up afterwards! Please see the Gallery for photos.

He has written a series of books based around an alternative world in Cornwall (where he grew up). He inspired the children and many enjoyed the book signing after the assembly. Thank you for helping to support the children’s first charity event. We have been raising money all week by selling wristbands and keyrings, and asking for donations on the gate this morning in exchange for the children wearing their own clothes. Thank you to Miss Tobin and the School Council for organising this. See the Gallery for a few more photos.

New Playground Equipment

New equipment 16446 1280 720 90

The school has purchased new playground equipment for the children to use at playtimes. It has been a huge success and has created 'zoned' areas where the children can skip, balance, play basketball, play football or create structures with the large shapes that you can see in the photograph above. There is also, of course, the quiet area based around our fabulous mosaic and the benches that surround it. The children like to read, chat or draw here. Please see the Gallery for some photos of the children enjoying their new equipment.

Choir Sings "Noah"

IMG 3599

On Thursday this week St Michael's School Choir gave a mini 'taster' to the rest of the school of a cantata that they have been working on. They performed two parts of a cantata called Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo by Joseph Horovitz. The children were enthusiastic and full of vigour and we look forward to hearing more of the cantata in due course. Thank you to Mrs Hewitt and Mrs Wadey for their hard work rehearsing and accompanying the choir each week.

World Book Day Winners!

IMG 3380

Well done to all the children (and staff!) for coming to school today in such wonderful character costumes, and thank you to all the parents/carers who had a hand in making it possible. Special congratulations go to the 14 winners - two from each class - who you can see in the photograph above. The time, imagination and detail that has gone into the costumes that we have seen today is incredible. The children spent the rest of the day doing activity work relating to their book theme. A lot of fun was had by all.
