The children had great fun, as always, producing some incredibly imaginative decorated eggs. The results were speggtacular. School Games

SG logo

In January of this year St Michael's launched a new School Games page. The School Games is a 'community' supported by many partners including The Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Sport England, Department for Education, Department of Health, Paralympics GB and the Youth Sport Trust. More than £100 million of Lottery and Government funding is being invested in the School Games over the next three years. At the heart of the School Games is the understanding that competitive sport needs to be made accessible and enjoyable for all young people. The School Games also presents some excellent opportunities for young people to become sports reporters, leaders, officials and volunteers. In 2012 The School Games Mark was launched to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community via club links. Schools are assessed across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark, each of which require the school to meet a set criteria. St Michael's has been awarded a silver Mark, and is striving towards gold. By setting up our page in January this year we can now deliver sports information such as fixtures, results, blogs and photographs, providing a fast and effective link to parents of children who have taken part in sporting activities for their school. Please follow the link on the homepage of this website to take you to the St Michael's School Games Page (or else go to www.yourschoolgames.com and search for our page using the school postcode -SG3 6JP). As of this week Mrs Deane has linked the School Games page to the St Michael's sports Twitter feed, so those of you who already use Twitter may find it easier to access our school's sporting information by logging in to Twitter using your own password and following StMichaelsScho2.

img 15661

That time of year is upon us and it is time for the Easter egg decorating competition! Your only limit is your imagination so get those creative juices flowing over the weekend. Bring the finished result to school on Thursday 24th March and put it in the hall on the tables that have been set up for display. Do not bring your eggs in before Thursday as we will have no space to store them. Either hard boil or blow your eggs and decorate/accessorise at will! Please make sure that all entries have the name of the creator clearly written on them. Judging will be by year groups and there will be a prize for winners. Parents are welcome to call in to the hall on the morning to view the colourful display!
