Enthusiastic Elm!

Lucas Olivia

Enthusiastic Elm pupils have really enjoyed their Geography theme.
Oscar shared photos from a family holiday to Mount Etna.  Benjamin drew an annotated volcano diagram at home.
Jake and Luca brought in useful reference books.
Poppy showed us lava from Mount Kilimanjaro.
Kenan created a PowerPoint about natural disasters and their causes.
Olivia and Luca made realistic models of a volcano and a tsunami.
The whole class have carried out tornado and volcano experiments in science lessons (a little messy!) and created detailed earthquake safety leaflets.
New school atlases have also helped them to study our ‘restless earth’ and plate tectonics in more detail.
Thank you to the children and their families for helping to bring our topic to life!

Campus West Dance Festival

Campus West

On Wed evening Beech Class all performed at Campus West in the annual Dance Festival. This year's theme was 'All Around The World".  Mrs Lewis worked her usual magic and choreographed their dance, which they peformed to the song "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang, arranged by Playing For Change for Universal Children's Day.The arrangement features children from all across the globe. Beech Class had an incredible energy, and they provided a feast for the eyes with fabulous colours, cool moves and lots of happy faces! A huge thank you to Mrs Lewis for her commitment to the children in the many weeks leading up to the performance, to Mrs Woods and Mrs Fincham too, and of course to all the children in Beech Class who made it happen. Well done. Please keep an eye on the Beech Class website page as a video of their performance will go up in the next couple of days.
