Enthusiastic Elm!

Lucas Olivia

Enthusiastic Elm pupils have really enjoyed their Geography theme.
Oscar shared photos from a family holiday to Mount Etna.  Benjamin drew an annotated volcano diagram at home.
Jake and Luca brought in useful reference books.
Poppy showed us lava from Mount Kilimanjaro.
Kenan created a PowerPoint about natural disasters and their causes.
Olivia and Luca made realistic models of a volcano and a tsunami.
The whole class have carried out tornado and volcano experiments in science lessons (a little messy!) and created detailed earthquake safety leaflets.
New school atlases have also helped them to study our ‘restless earth’ and plate tectonics in more detail.
Thank you to the children and their families for helping to bring our topic to life!

Elm Class Greek Day

Greek Day

Last week Elm Class enjoyed a wonderful Ancient Greek-themed day. They dressed up and took part in various activities including pottery making, tile painting, mosaic creating, medicine concocting, acting and dancing! In the afternoon they had a feast of Greek foods after which they enjoyed a performance of the dance and tragic/comedic acting that they had been previously rehearsing. The entire day was completely immersive, with the children being part of a continuing story whilst they conpleted their activities. Please see the Gallery for some fabulous photos.

Cardboard for Elm please!

Elm class will be making Ancient Greece-inspired models next week and require lots of cardboard for their creations!  Please save any cardboard that you have at home tomorrow and over the weekend, and bring it in on Monday. Cereal boxes would be ideal, but any will work. Also plastic milk bottle tops would make excellent wheels for the Trojan Horse! Thank you very much. Mrs Thompson.
