Mr B Mallon - Head Teacher

Parents who are considering a place for their child at St Michael's Woolmer Green are warmly invited to visit the school. Please telephone for an appointment and for a full copy of the prospectus.

In joining St Michael's Woolmer Green your child will be part of a community which shares Christian values where everyone works together to create a happy and secure environment. It is our aim to care for particular needs of each child to ensure that every opportunity is provided for all pupils to develop and reach their full potential.

In order to achieve this we look forward to working in partnership with you as your child progresses through the school and we encourage you to visit us to discuss your child's development.

Above all this is a caring school, with caring adults, who seek to develop positive relationships with our parents and children. Together we can ensure that your child will benefit from an exciting and enriching education at St Michael's Woolmer Green and will enjoy a happy and successful time here.

It was with sadness that we said goodbye to Sue Roberts as outgoing Vice Chair. Sue has worked tirelessly on the Governing Body for the past fourteen years.  Sue was instrumental in helping me to reorganise the Governing Body into its present form with the two Committees, Learning and Pupil Progress (LPP) and Finance and Resources (F&R). Her knowledge of the Admissions Process is second to none.  Sue has always taken part in a high level of debate challenging and supporting the school in equal measure.  She embraces the futur...

The Full Governing Body met for the first time this year on September 26th. As is tradition the beginning of this meeting was spent electing a Chair and Vice Chair and reviewing our committee structures and our roles and responsibilities.  I agreed to act as Chair for a further year and I am very pleased to announce that Rachel Stringer agreed to act as Vice Chair. All of our Governors are linked to a specific area of school life and these roles are published on the school website. At this meeting Mr Mallon reported to the Governors a very...

Football: Well done to the team for representing St. Michael’s in the first 'fixtures night' of the year at Monks Walk. We played two matches on the astro turf pitch. The first against Holy Family ended in a 1-0 defeat. The second was a 1-0 victory against Oaklands in a nail biting penalty shoot- out.The team spirit was excellent and all the boys gave 100% in terms of effort and application. Well done! Tom, Dylan, Elliot, Oliver, Philip, Charlie, Matthew and Thomas, and a big thank you to our drivers.   Netball: Mrs Fincham led our Hi-5 ...

Both committees (LPP and FRC) and the Full Governing Body met at the end of the Summer term when the Head's Report to Governors and the School Self Evaluation were discussed and approved. Rachel Wadey presented to FGB a report on her work as SENCo, Sarah Holden as Inclusion TA, and the work of the class teachers. This included the current arrangements for inclusion of all children in the classroom setting.  The new Pupil Profiles are working well. Progress of our SEND pupils is good.   Neil Gammon has completed a r...

Many thanks to parents for helping Redwood children put together props and outfits for our recent Harry Potter movies.  The children really enjoyed the experience, and it tied in well with our work on play scripts .  If you would like a copy of the movie, please bring in a memory stick next week and I will try my best to save it for you.  Mrs Gloyn...
